Optical illusions and perception tricks work even with both eyes open. There's more to go into but I'm so sleepy I can barely sit up, so I'm gonna do the nighty night. Sorry for the wall of text, thought a few different similar explanations might help someone that reads this. VR would work for this game even better, it would only increase depth perception. Cya! Alyx does plenty of trippy perspective near the end of the game. The whole idea of the game only works because it's shown on a 2d screen. โพสต์ดั้งเดิมโดย M-137:Maybe have a thought about it for a little bit? This simply doesn't work in VR. Hope that makes sense, it really should because it's second nature, the only real way we can "see" depth on a 2d screen, or with one eye open is being able to move to see the distance difference due to perspective, understanding the environment and pure experience of the world around us, so our brains can sort of fake depth with one eye, exactly how 3d on a 2d screen is ♥♥♥♥♥. That only works because depth perception is greatly reduced with only one eye, so as soon as you open your other eye the "illusion" breaks, because now you see the distance difference. Game Pass subscribers have been taking to social media to share their praise for the game (which first released for Xbox back in July 2020), described as a 'mind-bending first-person puzzler' in which you escape a surreal dream world through solving impossible puzzles using the ambiguity of depth and perspective. Imagine this common "game" almost everyone have done as kids: You can close one eye and then hold your hand infront of you, and sort of imagine that you're gonna pinch another person thats 40m away between your fingers. Some thing would work, like the portal typ doors where that cabin is bigger on the inside than outside, but that's only a part of the game and something that's been done in games for years. IMHO it's pretty obvious this can't exist in 3d, the perspective completely removes the illusion of what's happening. In VR you'd just see the house go closer/further and grow/shrink in size. Imagine the house that is small when he picks it up, and then gets big because the perspective is played with. Maybe have a thought about it for a little bit? This simply doesn't work in VR. ![]() ![]() ![]() In the second part of the season, aware of the global anti-Eldian sentiment resulting from Marleyan propaganda, Eren Jaeger preemptively targets the world outside of Paradis with the Rumbling, unleashing millions of Colossal-like Wall Titans in a widespread effort to kill all life beyond the island. With customisable graphical user interfaces, scripting support, and advanced playback, synthesis and effect engines, Kontakt provides the means for sound engineers and designers to create complex, unique, sample-based instruments, as well as to package these for distribution to others. But not so NI like I say, you have to admire it.Īlthough starting life some 20 years ago as a fairly standard software sampler, little different in terms of capability to the hardware samplers it was superseding, Kontakt has evolved into a powerful instrument development platform in its own right. So many software companies these days would have been tempted to just release the unfinished software and patch it later, with no hint of an apology of any sort, let alone a gift to make up for it. This says a lot about NI and why it has such a good reputation. What’s more, if you buy Komplete 12 before Massive X is released, NI will give you a £22 e-voucher to spend in its store, by way of an apology for the delay. Once released, it will be included in Komplete 12 and provided free to existing owners via NI’s Native Access software management app. This new synth, which will be different from and separate to the existing Massive synth, was not ready in time for the Komplete 12 release, but should be arriving in June. ![]() Of these, only Kontakt and Reaktor have seen version updates in Komplete 12 (more of which in a moment), but a new version of Massive, Massive X, is also due to be part of the bundle. They are, in alphabetical order, as follows:Īnd the Reaktor 6: which is the latest incarnation of NI’s astonishing modular synthesizer and effects-creation tool, and a tool that has been with us since the company’s very early days. These are the larger components that exist as standalone plug-ins, and which don’t rely on other plug-ins in order to operate. At its heart, Komplete is made up of a collection of primary instruments and effects. I’ve mentioned these core components (or should that be kore komponents?) a couple of times now, and this needs some qualification. Kore blimeyĪll of Komplete’s components can be purchased individually from the NI store, so there’s no need to splash out on the Collector’s Edition just to get something that isn’t included in one of the smaller bundles, nor do you need to buy Komplete at all, if all that you need is one or two of its core components. It’s basically every instrument, effect and expansion library that NI was selling when Komplete 12 launched – so it’s no wonder the boxed version comes on a hard disk. This behemoth of a bundle contains everything from the Ultimate edition along with a further 30 expansion sets, bringing its library up to a whopping 900GB comprised of over 90,000 sounds, patches and samples. If you want the full bells and whistles, then it’s the Ultimate edition for you, crammed with nearly twice the content of Standard: 101 instruments and effects, and over 45,000 sounds shoehorned into a 600GB library.īut if you’re really greedy for instruments, effects and sounds, there’s the Ultimate Collector’s Edition. This has 52 instruments and effects and a 220GB library stuffed with over 25,000 sounds and samples. To get the full set of core tools and functionality you need at least the Standard edition, called simply Komplete 12. While it’s a good route in to NI software, it does lack some of the heavyweight grunt of its stablemates if you’re thinking of buying Select, then be sure to check with NI’s website that it includes the components that interest you. This edition comes free with Komplete Kontrol S-Series keyboards and some Maschine controllers, or it can be purchased for just £159. ![]() Select is the baby of the family, with 14 instruments and effects, and more than 7,000 sounds in a 45GB library. Now onto its 12th iteration, Komplete comes in four different versions to suit different budgets and requirements. It was some time back that NI decided to start selling its various plug-ins as a bundle, and the excellent value this offered to users when compared to buying the products individually ensured it was an immediate success. ![]() While Native has now branched out into hardware – and awfully nice it is, too – at heart, it remains a software developer, with a list of plug-ins that reads like a modern music-producer’s ultimate wishlist: Kontakt, Massive, Reaktor, Battery, Guitar Rig and more… all innovative and brilliant at what they do. ![]() AuthorWrite something about yourself.
